Cleveland, Ohio / News Release — Magnus International Group was honored tonight with a Smart Business Innovation in Business Award for being among the region’s most forward-thinking, visionary organizations.

Smart Business Network, Inc. is a multimedia company with more than 20 years of experience producing quality news, marketing content and events.

Magnus Owners Eric Lofquist and Scott Forster

The accolade was presented to Magnus and 11 other top-performing Northeast Ohio companies at a ceremony held at LaCentre Conference & Banquet Facility in Westlake.

Magnus owners Eric Lofquist and Scott Forster were recognized as Rising Stars — business leaders from organizations in existence five or fewer years.

Lofquist and Forster were lauded for their cutting-edge creativity and for employing best management practices to stay on the forefront of technology.

Judges were impressed with Magnus’ groundbreaking systems for converting feedstocks
into sustainable global products such as natural animal feed ingredients, natural industrial and consumer waxes, and alternative liquid fuels.

The company’s four primary entities — Hardy Animal Nutrition, Hardy Industrial Technologies, Recycling & Treatment Technologies and Renewable Energy Management — are, by their very nature, smart and innovative to the core.

“Just about everything Magnus does is outside the box and on the cusp of the renewables and environment industry,” says Lofquist. “We don’t really exist without constant innovation that keeps us smart, green and growing.”

Magnus business partners include such noteworthy brands as Procter & Gamble, Betty Crocker, Duraflame, General Electric, Cargill, Perdue and Tyson.

In February of 2011, Magnus won its second Smart Business Evolution of Manufacturing Award for its outstanding ability to keep manufacturing strong and viable in Northeast Ohio.

About Magnus International Group
Founded in 2007, Magnus International Group is an award-winning manufacturer and distributor of natural animal feed ingredients, natural consumer waxes and alternative fuels. The company creates these proprietary products under its Hardy Animal Nutrition and Hardy Industrial Technologies brands by refining discarded food industry raw materials such as fats, oils and greases.

Magnus’ corporate office is in Cleveland, Ohio, and the company’s 25-acre production facility is located in Painesville Township, Ohio. There are only about 12 oleochemical plants in the U.S. and none are known to operate as uniquely and flexibly as Magnus or create the same outputs from products that are otherwise landfill-bound. The company partners with some of the world’s largest food production and consumer products organizations.
