Cleveland, Ohio / News Release / Magnus International Group is proud to be a continuing sponsor of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Ohio events. Tonight, we attended the BBBS Festival of Trees at Quail Hollow in Painesville, Ohio, for which we decorated a holiday tree for a live auction. The unique black-tie gala dinner transformed the resort’s grand ballroom into a winter wonderland.
Proceeds from the array of magical and whimsical trees will benefit 500 Lake, Geauga and Ashtabula County children through traditional matching programs and the agency’s growing after-school programs. More than 350 volunteers are engaged as BBBSNEO mentors, including Dottie Lofquist, Magnus founder Eric Lofquist’s wife.
Dottie conceptualized our “Green Christmas” tree, a fitting reflection of the company’s creativity in sustainable products manufacturing. Together with Magnus’ Shelli Riley, they purchased handcrafted ornaments made from natural or vintage items by independent artisans.
The ornaments were designed from tree parts, wood, glass, tin, buttons and other raw or recycled materials to celebrate the organic wonder of the holiday season. The company even used old books and barbwire to fashion eco-friendly strands of garland. Our “Green Christmas” tree was valued at $1,550.
