Chagrin Falls, Ohio — Magnus International Group has won its 12th award for manufacturing excellence with an Inside Business Manny Award for system/process innovation. The program annually recognizes the most inventive manufacturing organizations in Northeast Ohio for their greatest accomplishments in areas such as product development, revenue growth and green initiatives.
Since 1998, Inside Business has honored more than 130 manufacturers around the region. According to the magazine, Manny Award winners come in all shapes and sizes, but all hold one thing in common — they are the innovators who reflect the manufacturing strength and future of the region.
Magnus creates and distributes natural animal feed ingredients, natural industrial and consumer waxes, and alternative liquid fuels. These sustainable global products are made from reusable food industry raw materials such as fats, oils and greases.
The company has developed pioneering processes that add value to end-product formulation. Magnus partners with such high-profile businesses as Cargill, Land O’Lakes, Purina and Duraflame.
Magnus excelled in the system/process innovation category with the multimillion-dollar construction of a one-of-a-kind prill tower to manufacture a variety of products, including exclusive varieties of animal feed ingredients. The operation is producing record volumes of materials and poises Magnus for continued diversity, flexibility and high-growth in renewable products development.
Company co-owners Eric Lofquist and Scott Forster will be recognized with other winners at a May 13 awards ceremony, which will be held in the evening at Corporate College East.
“We’re looking forward to joining other honorees in celebration of our collective achievements and of manufacturing excellence in Northeast Ohio,” said Scott. “It’s motivating to hear the stories of other top-performing companies that are adding vitality to local industry.”
